Chief Executive Officer

Carlos Mario Giraldo Moreno has been Grupo Exito´s Chief Executive Officer since March 2013 after 5 years as Chief Operating Officer . Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Giraldo Moreno was the Chief Executive Officer of Negocio de Galletas and Commercial Executive Vice-President of Grupo Nacional de Chocolates.

Mr. Giraldo Moreno has a law degree from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He has also participated in an executive program at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University and Strategic Planning Management in Retailing at Babson College.

Vice-President of Operations

Carlos Mario Díez Gómez has been our Vice-President of Operations since 1999. Prior to joining us, Mr. Díez worked as a Manager at Colcosmeticos S.A. of the L'Oreal Group Colombia. Before his current position as Vice-President of Operations, Mr. Díez was Éxito's Commercial Vice-President and Marketing Director and Director of Food Sales, among others. Mr. Díez holds a management degree from EAFIT.

Vice-president of Éxito brand

Mr. Janovich holds a degree in International Business from Universidad Eafit in Medellín. He worked at the Dann Carlton Hotel in Medellin and joined the company in 2000. He held positions such as manager of the Envigado and Poblado stores, Chief or Operations of Éxito, Ley and Pomona after which he was appointed Manager of the Éxito Brand. He is currently the Vice-president of the Éxito brand.

Comercial Vice-President

José Gabriel Loaiza has been Grupo Exito´s Commercial Vice-President since 2011 and began his affiliation with the Company in 1996. During 2003, Mr. Loaiza worked at Precision Trading Corp., a U.S. company. Before he assumed his current position as Commercial Vice-President, during 2008 and 2009 Mr. Loaiza was Director of Financial Planning and then in 2010 he became Chief Entertainment Officer.

Mr. Loaiza holds a degree in administration from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master's degree in International Business from Texas A&M University.

Vice-President of Human Resources

Juan Felipe Montoya Calle has been our Vice-President of Human Resources since 2010 and with us since 1996. Before he assumed his current position, Mr. Montoya served as Operations Officer, as well as District Chief and as a Human Resources Manager. He holds a law degree specializing in labor law and social security from the Pontificia Universidad Bolivariana.

Vice-President of Marketing

Martín Nova Estrada Business Administrator from the University of Los Andes with a specialization in Marketing and others courses abroad.

After seven years of experience as a consultant in marketing and trade marketing of consumer companies and retailers, in 2009 he joined Group Éxito with the challenge of increasing the Customer Management area of the company with a focus on knowledge and consumer loyalty. Afterwards he was appointed Marketing Manager. Mr. Nova is currently the Company´s Marketing Cice President.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Filipe DaSilva was appointed as Chief Financial Officer since February 2013.  Prior to joining Grupo Éxito, Filipe worked for 11 years at Carrefour, and before he assumed his current position, Mr. DaSilva served as Chief Financial Officer at Carrefour Indonesia.  In addition, Felipe has extensive international experience in emerging countries such as Argentina, Colombia, India and Indonesia.  Mr. DaSilva holds a master´s degree in Management from Europe’s ESCP Business School.  

Supply Chain Manager

Jesús Alberto Quintero is a Public Accountant from the University of EAFIT. He worked in Cadenalco in 1992 as a head of Division of Accounting. He also served as a CFO in Cativen (Venezuela) and later served as Director of Financial Planning in Éxito. In April 2008 he was named as a general manager of Carulla and currently serves as Manager of Supply Chain group.

Chief Accounting Officer

In 1997 mrs. Estada joined the company as Chief of Operations and Finance Auditory. She is a Public Accountant from the Universidad de Medellín and has a Magister in Administration from the Universidad EAFIT. She is also counts with an accreditation in quality of internal evaluation auditor from the Institute de Auditors of Colombia.

Before joining the company she worked for five years in the Grupo Mundial as the Fiscal Revisor and Statutory Auditor. She has vast experience in subject like government, risk and control, thanks to which, during the years 2009 and 2010 she assumed with great success, for eight months, the position of Comptroller in charge.

Head of the Legal Department

He is a lawyer from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana; specialized in Business Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and in Industrial Property, Copyright and New Technologies from the same university. He also has a Master’s Degree in Private Law from de University Utrecht of Holland where he graduated with high honors. 

He was the Judicial Secretary of Productos Familia S.A. and a lawyer for the Energy Distribution Unit of Empresas Públicas de Medellín, among other jobs. He worked for our company until the year 2004 where he practiced as a lawyer for the legal department.

Client Manager

Marcela Quintero holds a Business degree from Universidad Eafit in Medellín. Mrs. Quintero also specialized in Marketing Management from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana also located in Medellín.
She joined the company 15 years ago as an intern, after which she held different positions in the commercial area, for 8 years she worked as Carulla´s District Chief for Antioquia, Occidente and Eje Cafetero (colombians regions). Mrs. Quintero was appointed Client Manager.
