Grupo Éxito maintains an inclusive value chain always seeking local producers for regional products.
- In 2011, direct purchases from local producers reached 69% whereas purchases from merchandisers dropped to 31%.
- 180 artisanal fishermen in Buenaventura and Santa Marta were benefited by a commercial alliance between the Company and their cooperatives.
- The direct purchases of livestock from cattle breeders in the provincial departments of Magdalena, Atlántico, Bolívar, Córdoba, Sucre and Meta increased 10% in 2011.
- More than 100 small fruit and vegetable producers enjoyed growth thanks to the purchases that Grupo Éxito made from 10 national cooperatives, including Coopaboy, Asociación de frutas La Ceja, Sanhas, and Ciagro.
