How does Grupo Éxito promote sustainability?

In Grupo Éxito, we are committed to sustainability. In each of our actions, we work so that our activities leverage the growth of the country within a framework of good corporate governance, transparency, equity, strengthening the institutional framework and respecting the law, considering the expectations of our stakeholders and acting in line with the principles of the Global Compact, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global sustainability standards. The Sustainability Policy is led by the company's Presidency and implemented by the Vice-Presidency of Corporate Affairs. The Sustainability Department coordinates and operates the actions. Within our corporate governance, we have a Board of Directors Committee. Guidelines are created at the organizational level related to the sustainability strategy. To guarantee an adequate articulation of all areas, we have a management model where there is a Corporate Sustainability Committee led by the Operational Presidency of the company and integrated by the different vice-presidencies and the Éxito Foundation. Additionally, in each of the six sustainability challenges, we have a committee that allows constant dialogue and aligns actions with the corporate strategy.

Challenges of the sustainability strategy

In Grupo Éxito, we promote sustainability through initiatives that generate value for Nourishing Colombia with Opportunities by promoting economic growth, social development, and environmental protection in Colombia. We do this through six challenges: generation with zero chronic malnutrition in 2030, promote sustainable trade, reduce the ecological impact on Mi Planeta, encourage healthy living, labour welfare because the success of Grupo Éxito is in its people and have the best business practices with Somos Íntegros.

Together with Fundación Éxito, we call on different sectors to commit to child nutrition and to achieve the first generation with zero chronic malnutrition by 2030, as a way to combat social inequality.
